Barskoon National Monument, Kyrgyzstan.
A series of three main waterfalls cascade from the heights to the valley
floor. That trail just gets steeper and
steeper as you go higher and higher.
The whole canyon looks to me like the Alpine Loop.

Also, this area was apparently where cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin
chose to recover from his space flight. Which is
cool, because: space. I, too, would
commemorate that with a sculpture.
I was with you on the could-be-Utah thing until you hit the Russian Constructivist Cosmonaut sculpture.
ReplyDeleteYes I see the Alpine Loop--minus the face carved in rock -how cool is that!
ReplyDeleteIt’s beautiful! Just like the Alpine Loop. (The bumper to bumper traffic must be just out of camera shot.)
